Solar Energy

Solar power systems are a clean and renewable source of energy that helps reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and combat greenhouse gas emissions. Unlike traditional electricity, which is sourced from fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas, solar power does not produce harmful emissions that contribute to air pollution and global warming.

By investing in solar technology, Los Bagels is not only positioning itself as a leader in renewable energy, but also working to create a more sustainable future for our community. In fact, we believe that Los Bagels is the only solar-powered organic bagel shop in the world!

The USDA's Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) partially funded our solar project, with the goal of increasing energy independence in rural communities. We are grateful for the support of REAP and are proud to be part of the effort to create a cleaner and more sustainable future.

"The time was right, we were able to partner with some great folks in the community who really made this project go. Kokatat advised us along the way, from selecting a contractor, to putting together our grant packet. We also reached out to Campus Center for Appropriate Technology (CCAT) to get their input on system parameters."
