Liscom Hill Ceramics (Assorted Colors)

Handmade in McKinleyville, California, by local potter Mark Cortright of Liscom Hill Pottery.

Mark began working with clay in 1969 and graduated from Humboldt State University with a B.A. in art and ceramics in 1976. His porcelain pottery is hand-thrown or slab-built and high-fired to 2400°F for durability and everyday use.

Each piece is a signed original and is ovenproof, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and lead-free. Because every piece is handmade, variations in size and color are part of its character.

In 1980, Los Bagels owner Dennis Rael was given an old family granola recipe by folk singer Bodie Wagner. Over the years, Dennis refined its subtle sweetness and wholesome ingredients into what became La Granola.

Slug Slime started with a happy accident.

When Los Bagels opened in 1984, a bagel machine malfunction produced something that looked more like a banana slug than a bagel. Instead of throwing it away, we covered it with roasted onion, garlic, and crunchy seeds. The Slug was born and became one of our most popular bagels.

Customers kept asking for the extra topping, which became affectionately known as Slug Slime. Now we bottle it so you can put that same crispy, savory mix on just about anything.
